Researchers at the University of Cambridge have outlined sustainable targets for the aviation industry to reduce its environmental impact and work towards net-zero emissions by 2050. Aviation currently contributes around 4% to global warming, with 2.5% of that from carbon dioxide emissions alone. The study proposes four goals to achieve by 2030, including avoiding contrails, improving collaboration between governments and the aviation industry, developing sustainable aviation fuels, and adopting new technologies.
