Conflict in Lebanon: Children left withdrawn, anxious and confused after being caught up in the violence

More than 400,000 children have been displaced from their homes amid the conflict between Hezbollah and Israel in Lebanon, according to UNICEF. Many children have had to flee multiple times and have experienced injuries such as concussions, traumatic brain injuries, shrapnel wounds, limb injuries, and hearing loss. At least 127 children have been killed in the past year, with over 100 deaths occurring in the past week. The impact on children's mental health is profound, with many experiencing withdrawal, anxiety, confusion, trouble sleeping, difficulty concentrating, and acute anxiety. UNICEF emphasizes the need for long-term psychological support for these children, but resources are currently limited.
