The al Zag family now lives in a crowded tent camp in al Mawasi, where Palestinians lack sufficient resources. The situation has led to the rapid spread of highly contagious skin conditions and the re-emergence of polio. Aid has been difficult to access due to tight control by Israel, with almost half of humanitarian missions being denied or impeded. The situation is particularly severe in the north of Gaza, where prices have risen more than tenfold and people resort to scavenging for food. The mental health crisis among Gaza's children is also worsening, with more than half of them suffering from PTSD.
