The lawyer for Christian B, the suspect in the disappearance of Madeleine McCann, claims that his client is a victim of prejudiced prosecutors and an amateurish police investigation. The defence lawyer argued that Christian B should never have been charged with the sex offences he is currently on trial for, and that the decision to prosecute would have been different if he had not also been a suspect in the Madeleine McCann case. The lawyer accused two main prosecution witnesses of lying and suggested that a former Irish holiday rep may have been influenced by media stories about Christian B. A verdict is expected on Tuesday.
