Israel has launched a wave of strikes on branches of the Al-Qard al-Hassan bank in Lebanon, which is linked to Hezbollah. The bank has been under US sanctions since 2007 for allegedly allowing Hezbollah to bypass banking systems. US Middle East envoy Amos Hochstein has arrived in Beirut to seek a negotiated end to the conflict between Hezbollah and Israel. The UN's humanitarian co-ordinator in Lebanon discusses the situation on the ground, and Moldova, a European country, has narrowly voted in favor of joining the European Union.
