President Joe Biden praised Slovenian Prime Minister Robert Golob for his role in the recent prisoner swap that freed Americans from Russian prison. The deal involved 24 people and months of negotiations, making it the largest U.S.-Russian prisoner swap in post-Soviet history. Slovenia released two Russian spies as part of the exchange. Golob said the swap demonstrated that with the help of true friends, nothing is impossible. The meeting between Biden and Golob also included discussions on the war in Ukraine, energy security, and their countries' shared approach to the Western Balkans.
