The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) have accused six Al Jazeera journalists of being members of terrorist organizations, Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad. The IDF released a dossier containing the names and identification numbers of the alleged terrorists, along with financial information. Al Jazeera has called the allegations unfounded and a blatant attempt to silence journalists. The Committee to Protect Journalists has stated that Israel has made similar unproven claims in the past without credible evidence.
