Dozens of inauthentic accounts linked to China have been targeting Republican House and Senate candidates in Alabama, Tennessee, and Texas, according to a report by Microsoft. The accounts have been accusing the candidates of corruption and promoting their opponents. The influence operation, known as Spamouflage, aims to denigrate the American political process and blunting anti-Chinese sentiment in the House and Senate. The report also revealed that Senator Marco Rubio of Florida, who is not up for re-election this year, was also attacked by the accounts.
