Israel's intensified bombing campaign in Lebanon has caused significant damage to buildings, surpassing the damage from a year of cross-border fighting with Hezbollah. Satellite-based radar data reveals that over 3,600 buildings in Lebanon have been damaged or destroyed between 2 and 14 October 2024, accounting for 54% of the estimated total damage since the conflict began. Environmental experts warn that Israel's bombing is creating a 'dead zone' in southern Lebanon, displacing the population and hindering Hezbollah's ability to regroup.
