Josh Berer, an Arabic calligrapher based in Washington, D.C., has expanded his business to include designing cross-cultural marriage contracts called ketubas. He recently created a ketubah for a Baha'i man and Jewish woman that incorporated Arabic, Farsi, Hebrew, and English text. Berer, who is Jewish himself, became a certified master Arabic calligrapher after eight years of full-time study. His personalized ketubas start at $1200 and can range up to $3000 for more detailed designs.
