A Hezbollah commander convicted for the assassination of Lebanese Prime Minister Rafic Hariri was reportedly killed in an Israeli strike in Syria. Salim Jamil Ayyash, a member of Hezbollah's 'assassinations unit,' was targeted in al-Qusayr. The U.S. Department of State stated that Ayyash had also been involved in efforts to harm U.S. military personnel.
