A new study has shown that hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) can help improve symptoms of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) in military veterans. The study, conducted in Israel, analyzed 63 veterans who underwent randomized treatment and found that those who received HBOT experienced a significant decrease in PTSD symptoms, with 68% reporting improvement. HBOT involves breathing in pure oxygen in a pressurized chamber and is typically used to treat physical health conditions. However, researchers have discovered that it can also be effective in treating mental health conditions like combat-associated PTSD. The findings offer new hope for veterans struggling with debilitating symptoms.
