Russia conducted drills in the English Channel with a frigate equipped with Zircon hypersonic anti-ship missiles. The crew practiced counter-terrorism drills and repelled air and sea drone attacks. The Zircon missiles have a range of 900 km and can travel at several times the speed of sound, making them difficult to defend against. Russia views these missiles as a way to target US defenses and boost its nuclear forces.
