Ben & Jerry's says parent Unilever silenced it over Gaza stance

Ben & Jerry's has filed a new lawsuit against parent company Unilever, claiming that it has been silenced on its stance regarding Palestinian refugees. The lawsuit alleges that Unilever breached a 2022 settlement agreement that required it to respect the independent board's responsibility over Ben & Jerry's social mission. Ben & Jerry's says it has attempted to publicly support peace and human rights on multiple occasions, but each time it has been silenced by Unilever. The ice cream brand has also accused Unilever of objecting to its selection of human rights groups for donations, claiming that Unilever found one group to be too critical of the Israeli government.
