American-Israeli Aviva Gat has published the first fiction novel on Hamas's October 7 massacre in an effort to combat ignorance and apathy surrounding the event. The novel, titled We Will Dance Again, draws on the experiences of real victims and tells the stories of young families and festival goers affected by the tragedy. Gat hopes that by writing a fictional account based on fact, a wider audience, including non-Jewish readers, will learn about what transpired on October 7. She also addresses the challenges faced by Jewish authors in the literary world, including antisemitism and fake reviews targeting their works.
