NHS worker wears Palestine shirt while treating Jewish patient

An NHS Trust is reviewing its dress code after staff members were reported for wearing pro-Palestine shirts and badges while treating Jewish patients. Lawyers suggest allowing employees to wear such items could breach the Equality Act. The Trust is now looking into offering further guidance on the use of 'political symbols'. Jewish patients are protected by Section 4 of the Equality Act which safeguards people on the grounds of their race, religion or belief.
