The War/Games gathering at the Train Theater in Jerusalem aims to address the emotional fallout of the recent Hamas attack on southern communities. The conference will focus on the way war is portrayed in the media and in the visual and material culture of children, particularly how children naturally relate to war when they play. Hanoch Piven, an experienced artist, will be speaking at the conference about the role of art in providing children with curative resources. Piven has previously worked with traumatized children, using discarded objects to create art and engage them in healing play activities.
