Israel has ordered residents of south Beirut to evacuate after targeting Hezbollah militants, following an attack by the Iran-backed group on Israeli military bases in Haifa. The Israeli military has escalated its bombing of Lebanon since September 23, and ground troops have been sent in. In response, Hezbollah has fired around 80 projectiles at Israel. The conflict has resulted in numerous casualties in both Lebanon and Gaza. Efforts to reach a ceasefire and end the war have stalled, but a 13-point proposal has been presented by the US ambassador to Lebanon.
