Jewish Agency elects first Druze representative to board of govenors

Former MK and commander of the Herev Battalion, Col. (res.) Mofid Marai has been appointed as the Jewish Agency for Israel's commissioner for the promotion of Druze society. Marai will represent the Druze community on the Jewish Agency's Board of Governors, with the mission to strengthen the relationship, partnership, and equality between the Druze community and the State of Israel. The appointment symbolizes the deep connection and historical commitment between the Druze community and Israel. The Jewish Agency's Board of Governors also called on the Knesset to pass legislation affirming the full equality of rights for Israel's Druze citizens.
