Families of American victims of the October 7 massacre and the Israel-Hamas war have filed a lawsuit against Iran for its support of Hamas and other terrorist organizations. The lawsuit cites evidence of Iran's funding of Hamas and its encouragement of attacks on Israel. Other designated terrorist organizations, such as Hezbollah and Palestinian Islamic Jihad, are also named in the lawsuit. The lawyers leading the lawsuit intend to hold these parties accountable in US courts or elsewhere. A similar lawsuit was filed by the Anti-Defamation League in July, which could potentially unlock federal funds for victims of state-sponsored terrorism.
