At the European Jewish Association (EJA) annual conference and symposium, EJA Chairman Rabbi Menachem Margolin called on European governments to declare an urgent six-month emergency period to address the rise in antisemitism. The symposium discussed the conflation of anti-Zionism with antisemitism, the safety of Jewish communities, and Holocaust denial in European universities. The EJA is urging the European Union and its member states to declare an immediate six-month period of emergency on antisemitism, which would include heightened protection for Jewish communities and increased security measures. The symposium also highlighted the need for Holocaust education and the adoption of the IHRA definition of antisemitism in universities.
