The political office of Hamas in Doha has not been permanently closed, according to Qatari foreign ministry spokesperson Majed Al-Ansari. Reports had suggested that senior members of Hamas's leadership outside of Gaza were in Turkey. An American source confirmed that Qatar had agreed to remove Hamas from its territory. The US was reportedly pressuring Doha to expel Hamas after the group rejected a hostage deal/ceasefire proposal.
