Ten people were exposed to a rabies-infected badger in the northern Golan Heights, and have been referred to medical authorities for preventive treatment. The Health Ministry has requested that anyone who came into contact with the badger or a stray animal between November 4-18 seek preventive treatment. In addition, parents are asked to clarify with their children if they had contact with the infected animal, and pet owners are urged to check the vaccination status of their pets. This comes after a previous case of rabies in the North where an individual was bitten by his pet dog and had to be hospitalized.
