Jewish Federations of North America (JFNA) and Israel's Health Ministry have opened the first of 16 planned mental health centers in Israel. The centers aim to provide access to treatments and services for hundreds of thousands of Israelis without the stigma associated with mental illness. The first center was opened in Beit Yanai in memory of a young couple murdered in a terror attack. JFNA contributed nearly $7 million to the Mental Health in the Community program, which was launched after Hamas attacks on Israel. The funds were used to provide support to terror attack victims, rebuild damaged communities, and assist local businesses affected by the war.
