From Australia to Israel, Adani Group projects span the globe

Two major Adani Group projects in Kenya were scuttled after its founder Gautam Adani was indicted by U.S. prosecutors over his alleged role in a $265 million bribery scheme. Adani Ports owns 70% of Haifa port in northern Israel, which accounts for 3% of its annual cargo volumes. The group bought the controversial Carmichael coal mine project in Australia in 2010. Adani Ports owns 51% of a new container terminal project in Sri Lanka's capital Colombo. Adani Power has a 1,600 MW Godda plant in India that exports electricity to Bangladesh. The Adani Group plans to build 10 GW of overseas hydroelectric projects in countries such as Nepal, Bhutan, Kenya, Tanzania, the Philippines, and Vietnam. Adani Ports signed an agreement to operate the main container terminals in Tanzania's capital Dar es Salaam. The group is considering investing in two airports in Vietnam and possibly investing $3 billion in seaport and renewable energy projects.
