Violent clashes in Montreal as anti-Israel protestors set cars ablaze

Anti-Israel protestors in Montreal set cars on fire, smashed shop windows, and burned an effigy of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. The protests turned violent as small explosive devices were hurled and metal pieces were thrown at police officers. Protestors also vandalized store fronts and set cars ablaze. Montreal police used chemical irritants and crowd-control tactics to regain control. The protests coincided with a NATO summit in Montreal and came after a wave of pro-Palestinian demonstrations in the city. The International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants for Netanyahu and others for alleged war crimes and crimes against humanity in the Gaza conflict.
