New Zealand has designated Iranian-backed Hezbollah and Houthis as terrorist organizations, becoming the 30th country to do so. The decision was made based on evidence that the organizations have knowingly undertaken terrorist activity. In February, New Zealand also listed Hamas as a terrorist entity and imposed travel bans on extremist Israeli settlers. The government clarified that the designation of Hamas is about the actions of an offshore terrorist entity and not a reflection on the Palestinian people.
