A Melbourne student who was allegedly shot at by Israeli forces has returned home and is now fighting to save the vision in her right eye. Ranem Abu Izneid, 20, was studying in her room on campus at Al-Quds University in the West Bank when the incident occurred. She heard gunshots and an Israeli soldier started shooting at her room's window, causing shrapnel to be lodged in her face, neck, chest, and right eye. Abu Izneid is still traumatized and in pain from her injuries, unsure if she can return to her studies. Her family and the Palestinian Australian New Zealand Medical Association are calling for an independent investigation into the alleged shooting.
