Israeli women demonstrated strength and resilience during the Iron Swords War, taking on essential roles both on the battlefield and on the home front. Two studies conducted during the war shed light on the coping mechanisms and survival strategies employed by women in Israel. The first study focused on women outside the direct circle of vulnerability, highlighting the importance of realistic optimism as an effective coping strategy. The second study focused on the partners of combatants and revealed a paradox regarding communication, with positive communication not necessarily benefiting the women's mental health. The findings emphasize the need for mental health support systems for partners of combatants and intervention programs for strained relationships.
