IDF troops reach the Litani River in their ground invasion of Lebanon, marking the first time since the 2006 Second Lebanon War that Israeli soldiers have reached the area. The military also announces the deaths of two soldiers: Sgt.-Maj. Yona Betzalel Brief, who succumbed to wounds sustained in fighting on October 7, and Sgt. Tamer Othman, who was killed in battle in northern Gaza. Troops carry out raids against terror infrastructure sites in the area and destroy weapons storage facilities hidden within the mountainside. The IDF launches a 'large-scale' attack on Beirut, striking 20 targets across the city. Defense Minister Israel Katz announces plans to build a new hi-tech border fence with Jordan to block smuggling, especially from Iran.
