The United States is not keeping pace with the threats facing its forces in Asia, according to Admiral Samuel Paparo, head of America's Indo-Pacific Command. The Pentagon is now scrambling to make up for lost time and is focusing on acquiring more weapons to buy more time. The Replicator Initiative is working on building thousands of cheap drones that can be used to deter China's aggression. However, Paparo emphasized that drones alone are insufficient and that the Trump defense team needs to quickly acquire the rest of the necessary weapons. The Pentagon estimates that China's arsenal of ballistic missiles has nearly doubled in the past two years.
