Manicurist to the stars keeps Cairo's golden age alive

Madame Lucie's is a historic manicure shop in Cairo that has survived the modernization of the city. The shop, established in 1960, still maintains its old-world charm and has served famous clients such as Nobel laureate Naguib Mahfouz and Omar Sharif. Madame Lucie, an 88-year-old manicurist, has preserved the shop's rich history and loyal customer base for over six decades. Despite suggestions to expand, she remains committed to keeping the shop as it was 65 years ago.
