Keir Starmer has been accused of trying to bring the Mayor of London 'to heel' after introducing new rules. The Prime Minister pushed through a rule change which critics say will limit the freedom of Labour mayors. Mayors such as Sadiq Khan and Andy Burnham will have to seek sign-off from party leaders for a range of moves, including running again for election and having report cards on their work. They will also have to hand over a portion of their salary to Labour HQ for disciplinary action.
