A memorial service was held for Capt. Omer Neutra, a lone soldier from Long Island who was killed by Hamas in October 2020. Neutra served as a tank platoon commander in the 77th Battalion of the 7th Brigade. New York Gov. Kathy Hochul ordered flags to be flown at half-staff and attended the memorial. Neutra's parents, Orna and Ronen Neutra, called upon the Israeli government to work with President Biden and President-elect Trump to return all 101 hostages, including their son, to their families.
