Forget gefilte fish... Jewish food gets a trendy millennial makeover

Jewish food is undergoing a trendy makeover, with brands recreating old school dishes in inventive ways to appeal to millennials. Legacy brand Manischewitz debuted a new look just in time for Passover, and other brands like NY Shuk spices and Seed and Mill artisanal halva are following suit. Chicago-based Sarah Nathan founded trendy matzo ball soup brand Nooish to make the dish accessible to everyone without hours of cooking. Another brand, Little Latke, offers gluten-free and vegan potato crisps inspired by the Chanukah favorite. The trend extends to events as well, with the Hot & Shabbat singles event encouraging diners to come solo and leave with friends or dates.
