A close friend of Travis Timmerman, an American traveler who was found in Syria after being seized by Bashar al-Assad's forces, has revealed his final location before he was found. Timmerman's last-known location was the Baptist Church in Budapest, Hungary, on May 28, 2024. Timmerman's friend expressed relief and joy at his safe return and mentioned that he has an incredible story to share. Timmerman was released from prison by rebels who overthrew Assad's regime. He had been traveling through Syria on a Christian pilgrimage when he was seized.
