Vietnam is hosting an international arms fair in Hanoi to showcase locally made weapons and boost its domestic defence industry. The country, which is a major importer of weapons, is seeking to become an exporter of military equipment. The fair will feature nearly 250 exhibitors, including defence companies from the United States, Europe, Turkey, Israel, Iran, Russia, and Ukraine. State-owned defence firm Viettel and other local companies will showcase missile defence systems, drones, air defence radars, armoured vehicles, and artillery. Talks are underway with South Korean and Czech companies for possible new deals to strengthen the local industry.
