Archaeologists in Georgia have discovered an ancient basalt tablet containing seven rows of detailed writing that belongs to a previously undocumented language. The tablet's script shows similarities to early Georgian and Proto-Kartvelian languages, as well as Semitic, Brahmani, and North Iberian scripts. The tablet was created using advanced tools and is believed to date back to the region's Bronze Age. The discovery raises questions about the distribution and preservation of writing in the transcontinental region. The symbols on the tablet resemble Middle Eastern symbols and Proto-Kartvelian scripts.
