A 1,500-year-old stone tablet inscribed with the Ten Commandments is set to be auctioned in New York City and could fetch up to $2 million. The tablet, which weighs 155 pounds, features Paleo-Hebrew script text and is the earliest known complete tablet of the commandments. It was discovered in Israel in 1913 and spent 30 years as a paving stone before its significance was recognized. The tablet contains only nine of the commandments found in the Book of Exodus, omitting one and including a new directive to worship on Mount Gerizim. The original site of the tablet was likely destroyed in the 11th century.
