Archaeologists in France have discovered a 1,800-year-old gold ring featuring an image of Venus Victrix, dating back to the Roman Empire's rule over the region. The ring is in exceptional condition and is made from Nicolo, a type of onyx. It likely served as both personal adornment and a seal for Roman elites. The discovery was made along a Roman road that facilitated trade and travel between settlements. Adjacent to the road, the remains of a medieval hamlet were also uncovered, offering insights into settlement patterns and cultural transformations over the centuries.
