The head of the World Health Organization (WHO), Dr Tedros, stated that he narrowly escaped death in an attack on the airport in Yemen. The airport, a civilian facility, was targeted by Israel. The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) claimed that the airport was being used by Houthi rebels to smuggle Iranian weapons and host senior Iranian officials. The Houthi-run Saba news agency reported casualties at the airport and other locations targeted by strikes. The Houthi rebels, backed by Iran, condemned the attacks and pledged to continue launching strikes on Israel.
