The Glasgow factory on the banks of the River Clyde has been the sole supplier of periscopes to the Royal Navy since World War I. Now run by Thales, the factory is the oldest part of the firm's UK operations and has a long-standing relationship with the navy. In addition to periscopes, the factory also produces advanced technology for the navy, including the Sonar 2076 system for the new class of Dreadnought submarines. The factory has also created an armoured vehicle centre of excellence and is developing new integrated combat systems for the digital battlefield.
