Despite no credible threats at this time, the NYPD is deploying a significant amount of police resources, including elite specialized units, bomb sniffing dogs, and drones, to ensure the safety of the event. Last year, the NYPD had four drone teams, but this year they will increase to six teams to monitor the crowds and surrounding areas in real time.
