Researchers from the University of Western Attica have digitally reconstructed the skull of the extinct dwarf hippopotamus, Hippopotamus creutzburgi, using 3D digital imaging techniques. The study sheds new light on the anatomy, evolution, and survival adaptations of this species. The team overcame challenges posed by poorly preserved fossils by employing 3D imaging and photogrammetry techniques. The digital reconstruction of the skull can be printed and used for museum exhibitions.
