The WHO chief called for the immediate release of Hossam Abu Safiyeh, director of Gaza's Kamal Adwan Hospital, who is being held by Israel's military following a raid on the facility. The assault on Kamal Adwan left the hospital out of service and emptied of patients. Israel's military said it had detained Abu Safiyeh, suspecting him of being a Hamas militant. WHO and partners delivered supplies to other hospitals in Gaza and urged Israel to stop attacks on hospitals and ensure access to healthcare.
