A video of a rare bittern bird filmed in Jersey has gained international attention. The video, captured by photographer John Ovenden at the Wetland Centre in St Ouen, has received 237,000 views on social media and has been seen by people across Europe, north America, and the Middle East. Bitterns, also known as 'ghost birds', were previously driven to extinction in the 19th century but have made a significant conservation comeback with a 24% increase in numbers.
