New York resident Chen Jinping has pleaded guilty to conspiring to act as an illegal agent for China, admitting to operating an undeclared Chinese police outpost in Chinatown. This marks the first known case of its kind in the US. His co-defendant, Lu Jianwang, has pled not guilty. Chen faces a maximum penalty of five years in prison, while Lu is awaiting trial.
