The Metropolitan Police will use its powers under the Public Order Act to prevent a pro-Palestinian march from taking place near a central London synagogue. The National Demonstration for Palestine, organised by the Palestine Solidarity Campaign, was due to start outside BBC Broadcasting House. Concerns were raised by MPs, peers, and Jewish community leaders about the potential disruption to worshippers at the synagogue. The police said they had considered the impact of previous protests near synagogues and acknowledged the increased concern among Jewish Londoners. The Palestine Solidarity Campaign has yet to change its plans for the demonstration.
