The National Security Council (NSC) has warned of increased Iranian attempts to lure Israeli citizens abroad under false pretenses, with the aim of harming or kidnapping them. The warning comes after Iranian operatives attempted to entice an Israeli businessman to the UAE as part of a plot targeting him. The operatives posed as representatives from a Persian-language division of a Saudi media outlet and communicated with the businessman via the Telegram app. The NSC emphasized the persistent threat posed by Iranian efforts to target Israeli citizens abroad and urged caution when engaging with unfamiliar online contacts.
