Last week, the writer had the opportunity to volunteer with Grilling for Soldiers, an organization that coordinates barbecues on bases to serve IDF soldiers. While driving through the Gaza Envelope, the writer visited Kibbutz Be'eri and saw the devastation caused by terrorist attacks. They were then able to set up a barbecue for soldiers and witnessed the leadership and camaraderie within the unit. The writer reflects on the heaviness and hope in Israel.
